Praying Power

Image
I am convinced that Satan got the word that God has a blessing on the way for me, my family and my Ministry.. Why do I say that? For the last couple of weeks everything and everyone close to me that could be attacked has been.  Friendships... Attacked!  Family... Attacked!  Finances... Attacked!  Health... Attacked!!! Work Environment... Attacked!  Peace of Mind... Attacked! Ministry... Attacked!  Mind you, I never said we were weakened by the Attacks. I am just calling the Enemy out! Know This!!! "No Weapon formed against me shall prosper... " I am not afraid because... “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” I have not be weakened nor am I scared because... "the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? I don't care what form you come at me with, you cannot stand … ”When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.” Even when t

Already Prepared!!

Image
Have you ever sat down to take a test and realized that because you studied and  were prepared, it was easy? God has prepared you for whatever comes your way today! His whole armour is always available to you, its your choice whether or not you are willing to put it on. Personally, I don't know a soldier who is willing to go to battle without the proper equipment.  Make prayer your first line of defense in preparation for the day! Through prayer, you will receive direct instructions from God, not only that, but your prayer sets angels on alert to guide, protect and bless you as you go throughout your day. The Bible says that "...one will put one thousand to flight (meaning demons), but two will put ten thousand to flight."  [Leviticus 26:8; Deuteronomy 32:30]. Be prepared and Pray!! Be Blessed, G

Do Your Words Glorify God and encourage Man?

Image
If not, then why not? When I was young, my words were untamed, unseasoned, and sometimes downright ugly. I had the ability to put together a superlative string of offensive words and phrases.... in other words, I could cuss like a sailor. As I became older and wiser in my faith, I realized that my words had power... Proverbs 18:21 "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those ... The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the ... the power of life and death, and those who love to talk will have to eat their own words."  It took some time to correct this, but God gave me the tools to do so, and helps me to keep that urge under submission. I often hear people come up with the excuses... "God is still working on me", "that is just who and am:. and so many more. My question to you is are you not in control of your own body, and mind? And to my Christ Followers are we  encouraged by God to stand in His strength when we becom

Becoming a Mountain Climber

Image
I don't know anyone who has not faced a problem and thought or said that they wished God would just move it out of their way. I know that on many occasions, I just want God to step in and move people out of my life, change situations that burdened me.... I just wanted Him to fix it. As I watched this years Olympics, I was amazed at the heart of those who while competing tripped and fell, but did not stay down. Even though they were out of medal contention they still finished. This made me think how we as Christ Followers need to be persistent in our race. We are going to face many obstacles that will block us, knock us down, and even put us on our face, but we must get up and keep on until the race is finished. Its easy to look up at our mountain, and just say "God fix it", but God has called us to be Mountain Climbers. He has called us to continue our spiritual workouts daily. He has called us to take care of our temples and be prepared for whatever we have to f

Bone Collector

Image
During my morning devotional time, God told me that I was called to be a "Bone Collector", but not in the way that I understood. It took me back to something that my grandma use to say to me when I was was young; "Don't Carry Bones!" As a kid the true meaning went right over my head. My thinking was that only dogs carry bones, and I was not a dog, so .... OK grandma! Now that I am older, strike that, wiser.... It has a deeper meaning. Carrying bones means how we gossip, and share information that is not uplifting, encouraging, or helpful. But to take it a step further, in order for us to acquire the bone, something had to die, become detached and get picked clean. For example... that single mother with multiple kids and multiple fathers that you so often talk about, she has suffered death, death in relationships, death in heartbreak, death by abandonment... She is now detached from her own self worth, ability to see herself not struggling and so much more..

You Were Called To This

Image
It’s a new school year! Excitement, anticipation, concerns and worries all wrapped up inside. You are wondering if you are going to make it, will it be too hard, can I afford it, what going to happen next!  Hey you! Yeah you!!! You were called to this! God has ordained you for and in preparation of this moment in time. 28  We know that all things work together   for the good   of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.   29  For those He foreknew He also predestined   to be conformed to the image of His Son,   so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers.   30  And those He predestined, He also called; and those He called, He also justified;   and those He justified, He also glorified. Romans 8: 28-30 It time to put your faith to work and trust God!!   “This is why I tell you:  Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more

Giving

Image
Have you ever wanted to be a blessing to someone, but paused because you were concerned that it would cause you a hardship? If God has endorsed your giving, time or finances to help someone else, he has already given you your provisions. " Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full--pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back." Luke 6:38

Fit For The Journey

Image
”And Moses said unto the LORD, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.” Exodus 4:10 Just like Moses, often we take stock in our short comings, and render ourselves useless to the tasks that God has sent us to do. We complain about all the things we can’t do, and forget that we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us. Our God is not a God who would send us anywhere unprepared. We need to check our backpack and realize that everything we need has been there all the time. God’s power is limitless. If you are truly His child, step out on your faith and trust your Father for all things. If God has told you to Go… what are you waiting for… He has already packed your bags. “Dear Lord, I don’t always understand your awesomeness. Please help me see that your help is like owning a storehouse that has a limitless supply of everything I need. “..Amen Be Blessed G’

WHEN TO LET GO

Image
"He led them forth by the right way." Psalm 107:7 Have you ever been in a situation where a friend was going through something that you have been through and God silenced you? Have you ever seen a loved one burdened with a problem that hit home in your life, and God halted your witness? These are the times that you question God and yourself. Why am I here? Did you not put me here to help others in their Christian journey? What a dilemma and a spiritual struggle. How hard it is to let go and let God. We must understand that there are times that we must allow others to face their trials on their own. Although it hurts, and you would rather have been the one to endure the hardship, God has a purpose in all that He does. During these tough times, we must be obedient. Just as He brought us through, we must trust that He will bring them through and they will come forth as pure gold. Be Blessed, G

RELATIONSHIP CHECK

Image
As I spent my quite time with the Lord today, I reflected on the type of relationships that many of us have. Some of us are in long term, well invested relationships while others are into casual one night encounters. How we treat each others gauges how stable the relationship is. Whether or not we invest quality time is a factor. Whether or not we value who we are with is a factor, Finally, whether or not we value ourselves is a factor. Many times I find myself apologizing to God for not having spent quality time with Him. Sometimes we have to check ourselves to make sure that we are nurturing a long term, well invested relationship with God, rather that a casual encounter. Have you checked your relationship with God lately? Be Blessed, G

WEATHERING THE STORM

Image
This morning I viewed a video of a couple of individuals that were standing near a shore. They were there in the middle of a storm. As they stood there, wave up wave were seen rising behind them. All of a sudden one of the waves came upon them. One of them was swept away by the wave. One of them went our to try and rescue the one that swept away. Another wave came through and knocked the one who was trying to rescue the first one off their feet. The third person went in to rescue them both. As they were trying to get their footing, another wave came through that swept all three of them off of their feet. Eventually, they were able to recover. As I watched this video, I reflected how things have been for me the last couple of months. I have experienced trials at work, home, ministry, financial issues, illness, hospitalizations, death, and brokenness... Wave after wave of difficulties... BUT  But his answer was: “My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak.” I

GET OUT OF THE FIGHT

Image
As I began my morning devotion, I asked the Lord to help me with the many storms that I have been going through. God in his Infinite Mercy and Grace opened my eyes to see that we must get out of the fight and allow God to not only work on the person or situation we are battling, but to work on us. We often let our past hurts, pains and open wounds dictate our actions. We find ourselves pounding away at others, praying to God to fix it, yet never getting out of the fight. God does not want to referee our problems and situations, He wants to make us whole. He wants us to walk away with a witness, a testimony, a story of redemption and healing. Choose today to get out of the fight. Be Blessed, G
