I am the richest woman on earth!

Ok , so I don't have the most perfect life. I don't have the most perfect family. I don't even have the cleanest house. I'm not in the best of health. I have not fulfilled all of my dreams or desires. I don't have fat pockets, or drive a fancy car. What I do have is a God that loves me, a loving and close family. I have peace and new mercies everyday. So, that makes me the richest woman on earth.  I pray that you take into account all of the blessings that you have had this past year and during your entire life. Have a blessed holiday! God loves you and so do I.

Let God Write Your Story

Image
My youngest son has imagined, created and drawn Characters from the time he was able to hold a pencil. As his skills and talents progressed, he begin to put more and more thought into his Creations. He would Note their Characteristics, Strengths, weaknesses and purpose. He always provided them with what they needed to fulfill whatever purpose, or call he had in mind. God, our creator did that for us but on such a grander scale. His word says that he Knew us before we were even conceived. He knows the number of hairs on our head . He new what our character was as well as our flaws. He knows our purpose, our passions and our positions. His word says that All things work together for good of those called according to His purpose. We need to seek the creator for direction on how our next chapter should read. Let God continue to write you story and watch His craftsmanship and masterpiece in you come forward!

Walking In Your Purpose on Purpose

Image
Being the mom of athletes, I have had many opportunities to witness what it looks like to see someone give their absolute all on the field. I have lived through watching them playing through asthma, broken bones, sprains, and yes even concussions. I have watched and prayed from the sidelines that God would keep and protect them as they pursued their purpose. There was one time when one of my sons was absolutely rocked while carrying the ball. I thought he was out  of the game. From the sidelines he heard his dad say, "Son, get up, you're OK, shake it off". With that my son got up, a little wobbly, and continued the game.  " So I run straight toward the goal in order to win the prize, which is God's call through Christ Jesus to the life above."  Philippians 3:14 Be Blessed, G Sometimes in the midst of walking in our purpose, we are going to get rocked. But if we listen to the voice of the Father telling us to "Get Up, You're OK, shake it off&

THE UNAPPROVED YOKE

Image
One of my greatest struggles is learning how to say "No". I have always wanted to be useful and helpful. I do not like to disappoint others, to the extent that I can and will allow myself to be put in a bad place. This has often gotten me into situations that God did not authorize nor condone.  There are  3 types of yokes in our lives which separates us from Gods desire for our lives.  1. Man's Yoke which leads to  bondage, confusion, and problems. 2. Satan's Yoke which leads to death and destruction and separation from the Father 3. Self inflicted yokes which lead to careless choices, bad relationships and destructive living. We must careful not to put on any yoke that God did not approve. Gods word promises us ;   " For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. ”  Matthew 11:30  Be sure not to put on any yokes that God  did  not approve. Pray to the Father in all things and ask His will concerning you.  Be Blessed, G Visit my website a

Be Careful How You Treat Others

Image
Having grown up around many Christian leaders and teachers, I have seen those who have humble spirits, and those who do not. I have seen those who by way of their popularity have found themselves requiring dutifulness of those they were called to help. Just because we are called to help others does NOT elevate us to a position to rule over them. Be careful of how you treat those God has called you to help. Our teaching should always be seen as a pay it forward opportunity.  John 13:14   says; " Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet." I agree that it feels good to empower others, to bless others, and to help others, but in the end the only one that should be glorified is God. We must abstain from seeing ourselves higher than we aught to, and requiring it from others...  Romans 12:16   says; "Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do

Are You Fully Dressed?

Image
Weeks leading up to my Marriage, I had frequent dreams of not being ready for my wedding day. One dream, I forgot my gown, one dream, my hair wasn't done, and yet another, no shoes. Each time as I realized my unpreparedness, I went into a panic thinking that my day was ruined.  As Christ followers, God commands us to daily put on His whole Armor so that we can be prepared for anything that comes our way.  Finally, be strong in the Lord  and in his mighty power.     Put on the full armor of God,  so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.     For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,  but against the rulers, against the authorities,  against the powers  of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.     Therefore put on the full armor of God,  so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.     Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled arou

Who's Watching

Image
Have you ever taken the time to consider who is watching you. As a the wife of a Pastor, we often say that our life is like living in a fishbowl. Everyone is watching you for the good, bad, and the ugly. For that reason, I am always conscious of how people see me. First, am I being real with them, myself, and God. Second, I am representing God well. Third, am I setting a positive example for whoever is watching.  I would never be so self-righteous to say that I never slip up, or make mistakes, I'm human. I've spoken out of anger, and out of places of hurt and pain. I've at times behaved selfishly. The spiritual connection is that I recognize  my faults and failures, ask for forgiveness, and try with Gods guidance to do better.  Many people in leadership who fall, fall hard because they always put on the front that they are blameless. There is no one blameless, except God. All we can be is the best us we can. Let God fill in the voids and gaps of your imperfections. Se

PRAYER - It's What You Don't See!

Image
We all have been conditioned to instant results. We need and answer we Google it. If we are hungry, we drive through and get it, or we find a fast microwaveable meal. We need to reach someone we text them. All resulting in immediate responses. Because of how society has us wired, we have regulated prayer in the same way. I pray, God answers, its done. I have grown to recognize that God is intentional in His word.  " Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. " James 5:16  " Rejoice always,    pray without ceasing,    in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."   1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Understanding that God answers prayers when He is most glorified leads me to believe that there is a lot going on that we cannot see. There is a lot of spiritual activity associated with our prayers. I can imagine the angels be

Won't He Do It?

Image
Just like most African American Christians, I went to see "War Room", not once but twice. Each time I watched it, God revealed something new. I pondered for a while on how I could develop a prayer strategy for my family, friends, and loved ones. Being that I have such a large family and limited space in my home, a prayer closet is not an easy place to find. Being creative, I found a quite corner early in the morning to go to battle. I'm an avid journal writer, so my notes and prayers are stored there. I have found that taking that time, being specific in prayers, and just trusting God, in the last 48 hours, I have seen God work in miraculous ways. Additionally, one of my sons who is away at college has shared with me that he has repurposed part of His dorm room to be His War Room. Take the time time pray specifically and earnestly about those people God places on your heart... And watch Him work it out.

Strategies for Effective Prayer

Image
What is Prayer We must first understand that Prayer is communicating with God. Many of our prayers are delivered with no more consideration that an order placed at a drive through window. Communication is a two way informational stream. After we have have given God praise, Confessed our sins, Thanked Him for all He's done and placed before Him our problems, we must learn to find that quite place in our spirit that will allow us to hear from God. Trust God's Timing After we pray, we must trust God's timing. The best explanation that I've heard in regards to Gods timing in answering our prayers was," He will answer prayers when He is most glorified". Pray Without Ceasing  Praying continuously for most seems like an unattainable task as we go about our daily routine. I have come to realize that our staying connected to the Holy Spirit throughout the day is how we are able to pray without ceasing. Therefore our conversations with others must incorporate o

Self Made Storms

Image
Be mindful that the storm you are claiming to be in is not self-made. Sometimes in our urgency to get things done quicker and on our terms, we mess up what God's intentions were and create our own storm, our own disconnect. I'm often guilty of this. I consider myself a problem solver and with that I have a tendency of out running the holy spirit and taking a detour or making the wrong turn (Disconnecting). Slow down and listen to God's marching orders, His directions, His Spirit... then when we find ourselves in battle, up against the wall, or in difficult times, our defense attorney who knows all and sees all is right there to guide you through whatever you are dealing with.
