How to Battle a Storm

Image
Many of us face storms daily. Some are quite storms, and some are raging tsunamis. Some of our storms have little power but are uncomfortable and irritating at best. Other storms hit us so hard that it seems as if our very souls are knocked right out of us. Gods example on how to battle a storm is so important and powerful and necessary. One great example is when the disciples were in the boat and Jesus was below deck asleep. They found that after all their personal efforts that what they needed to do was wake Jesus up by calling his name. His glorious, wonderful, and powerful name causes the winds and waves to obey and cease from raging. The next great example is when Peter asked Jesus if he could come out of the boat ( face his situation ) and walk on water ( Use his faith ). God told Peter to come ( honoring his faith ). As Peter was walking he began  to sink ( Satan reminded him of his faults, failures, and past sins ). God then reached out to Peter with his mighty hand and ha...

Showing Love

Image
Showing Love      “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. John 15:12-15 What the world needs NOW is love sweet love!  God's love... unconditionally shown to and through his people. Day after day each of us is wake up to debilitating news of hatred, violence, financial problems, health issues, and other personal concerns. What can we do to make a difference? What can we do to make a change? Show someone God's love! Why Show Love? By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35 Christ showed the ultimate display of love by giving up his life f...

Who am I and what am I called to do?

Image
"Trust in the LORD with all  thine  heart ; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In  all  thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."   Prov.3 :5-6 I’ve asked myself many times how does a person understand who they really are and what their purpose is? Many times we jump into situations, projects, relationships because either it is popular at that time, it feels good to do, or someone has convinced us to do it. I know for a fact that I have not always sought God’s approval let alone guidance going into situations. I was prompted by my own desires, or encouraged by people and circumstances to just do it. Our society encourages us to “Just Do It”. So we do. I believe that we need to put things in our lives into a better perspective before we “Just Do It”.  So here is how we can know ourselves and our purpose.     Know ing Christ and having a relationship with Him better helps you to understand who we were meant to...

Be That! Do That

Image
Everyone has been called by God for a purpose. It may not be preaching, teaching, singing or any of the out front in your face ministry callings... but you've been called for someone and to something. Look around you, who are the people God has placed in your immediate circle. Is it a family member, coworker, fellow student, the guy at the local coffee house? Has God placed it on your heart to share words of encouragement, or help them in any way? Have you felt anxious or driven to do or say something that makes you feel uncomfortable to them? Thats God speaking to you... You are not always going to be comfortable with what God is asking you to do... or what He is asking you to become... all He ask is that you be what He has purposed you to be, and do what He has called you to do. Be That... Do That!! Be Blessed, G

Praying Power

Image
I am convinced that Satan got the word that God has a blessing on the way for me, my family and my Ministry.. Why do I say that? For the last couple of weeks everything and everyone close to me that could be attacked has been.  Friendships... Attacked!  Family... Attacked!  Finances... Attacked!  Health... Attacked!!! Work Environment... Attacked!  Peace of Mind... Attacked! Ministry... Attacked!  Mind you, I never said we were weakened by the Attacks. I am just calling the Enemy out! Know This!!! "No Weapon formed against me shall prosper... " I am not afraid because... “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” I have not be weakened nor am I scared because... "the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? I don't care what form you come at me with, you cannot stand … ”When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.” E...

Already Prepared!!

Image
Have you ever sat down to take a test and realized that because you studied and  were prepared, it was easy? God has prepared you for whatever comes your way today! His whole armour is always available to you, its your choice whether or not you are willing to put it on. Personally, I don't know a soldier who is willing to go to battle without the proper equipment.  Make prayer your first line of defense in preparation for the day! Through prayer, you will receive direct instructions from God, not only that, but your prayer sets angels on alert to guide, protect and bless you as you go throughout your day. The Bible says that "...one will put one thousand to flight (meaning demons), but two will put ten thousand to flight."  [Leviticus 26:8; Deuteronomy 32:30]. Be prepared and Pray!! Be Blessed, G

Do Your Words Glorify God and encourage Man?

Image
If not, then why not? When I was young, my words were untamed, unseasoned, and sometimes downright ugly. I had the ability to put together a superlative string of offensive words and phrases.... in other words, I could cuss like a sailor. As I became older and wiser in my faith, I realized that my words had power... Proverbs 18:21 "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those ... The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the ... the power of life and death, and those who love to talk will have to eat their own words."  It took some time to correct this, but God gave me the tools to do so, and helps me to keep that urge under submission. I often hear people come up with the excuses... "God is still working on me", "that is just who and am:. and so many more. My question to you is are you not in control of your own body, and mind? And to my Christ Followers are we  encouraged by God to stand in His strength when we becom...
