Practice Forgiveness for a Peaceful Heart

"Bear with each other and forgive one another… Forgive as the Lord forgave you." - Colossians 3:13

Forgiveness isn’t always easy, but it’s an essential part of a peaceful and fulfilling life. When someone wrongs us, the initial reaction might be to hold onto the hurt, replaying moments of pain and frustration. Yet, Colossians 3:13 reminds us that just as God has forgiven us, we too are called to forgive others. This act of forgiveness brings healing not only to the relationship but also to our own hearts.

Holding onto grudges often weighs us down, filling our minds with anger, bitterness, and stress. Forgiveness, on the other hand, allows us to let go of this burden. When we forgive, we’re choosing freedom from resentment and moving forward in peace. As difficult as it may seem, forgiveness doesn’t mean excusing or forgetting the wrongdoing; it simply means releasing the control it has over our lives. It's about finding peace by trusting that God will give us the strength to move forward.

When we remember that God forgives us unconditionally, we can find the courage to extend that same grace to others. Through forgiveness, we experience healing and invite peace into our hearts.

"Lord, I come to you with a humble heart, asking for Your guidance in learning to forgive. Teach me to release any bitterness and to let go of past hurts. Help me to forgive as You have forgiven me, finding peace and freedom in the process. Amen."

Forgiving others is a path to a lighter, more peaceful life. Practice forgiveness today, and notice how peace flows into your heart as you let go of grudges.

Unapologetically,  G
