Lord, You Did Not Waste My Journey

There comes a moment in life when we pause long enough to look back.

Not to relive the pain, but to recognize the purpose.

The unexpected turns.

The seasons that stretched us.

The prayers that felt unanswered.

The trials that tested our strength.

At the time, many of those moments felt confusing. Some even felt unfair. But when we step back and view our lives through the lens of faith, something remarkable becomes clear:

God was never absent.

Every step—good or difficult—was part of a greater design.

Scripture reminds us in Epistle to the Romans 8:28 that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. This does not mean every experience is pleasant, but it does mean every experience can serve a purpose in God’s plan.

Trials strengthen our faith.

Pain produces wisdom.

Waiting develops patience.

And perseverance shapes our character.

Sometimes the very hardships we wish we could erase become the moments that deepen our relationship with God the most.

Through every season, God was shaping us into the person we are becoming.

Even the chapters we struggled through have meaning.

The lessons learned, the strength developed, and the compassion gained from those experiences now allow us to walk with greater faith and greater understanding.

And perhaps the most powerful realization is this:

Our journey does not only impact us.

It becomes encouragement for others.

In Second Epistle to the Corinthians 1:3–4, we are reminded that the comfort we receive from God allows us to comfort others. Our stories of endurance become testimonies of God's faithfulness.

What once felt like survival becomes ministry.

When we reflect on everything we have experienced—the victories, the trials, the waiting—we begin to see that nothing was wasted.

Not the struggle.

Not the tears.

Not the lessons.

God was writing purpose the entire time.

And with grateful hearts we can say:

Lord, You did not waste my journey.
