We Need You!

Image
In 1942 The United States begin instituting the draft to build up the military branches in preparation for war. Men from the ages of 21 to 45 were required to register. We are in a time of war right now. You may not see it, and that's what the enemy is planning on. The enemy would love nothing more than to overwhelm us with discouragement, defeat, fear, and stress. We cannot let him win. The War that we are facing is spiritual. "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;)" 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 God is enlisting his Prayer Warriors to take to the field and pray for the salvation of His people and the healing of the land. We have been given our marching orders and we must answer the call. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hea

I am here, it's me, your friend, God!

There were many church songs we sung as children that had deeper meanings that weren't revealed until my relationship with Christ grew and matured. "I want to be a follower of Christ" It made me think of the disciple's journey as they followed God on the earth. It was very hard for me to comprehend how without God in the flesh, I could become a true follower of Christ.  As my relationship with God matured and I realized that God was in me, my heart, mind, spirit, and soul, being a follower was easy. Yet I desired more. I wanted a more intimate relationship with God. That is when the scripture opened up to me and revealed that He desired to be my friend. At one time, I had a really twisted idea of friendships.  I had lost many people whom I called friend which left me hurt and broken. I vowed never to call anyone friend because it was too closely related to pain and brought bad memories and hurt. But there is a song; "I am a friend of God" that made m

Boast About Your Weakness

Image
Some mornings when you open your eyes, life is standing by your bedside, boxing gloves tightly strapped, greased up, warmed up and ready for round one. All you had planned for the day is time with God, a mocha latte, a warm blanket, and a good book. You've prayed, studied and fellowshipped with the father daily, You've been in battle all week with children misbehaving in school, bills collectors calling, family members in need of your help, challenges on the job, and to add the cherry on top you just don't feel well. All you wanted to do today is rest from battle, but life is still warming up and bouncing around the ring waiting for your feet to hit the floor.  These are the times when your strength is low, your desire to go into battle is not there and you feel unprepared, uninspired and wanting to turn over and pull the covers over your head. I'm so glad our heavenly father knows his children. He knows when we are tired and weak from the daily battles we face and he

Never Let Your Emotions Derail Your Dreams.

We have all experienced hurt, and disappointments. We've all been pushed to the point of wanting to quit. We've all been blindsided by people and events that rocked our world. As I've allowed God to guide me through these life altering moments, I've discovered moments of spiritual growth. I've discovered that these hard times have proven two things in my life. Satan ( not the people or person) desires to  kill, still and destroy my witness and my character. God has already written my story, paid the price for my ransom, and made me victorious. So as I go through life's trials and journey, I cannot and will not allow my emotions to derail my dreams. I will press toward the prize that I am assured is waiting for me.  I will put my emotions and feelings in check.  I will check my will daily to assure it is Gods will for me and not mine.  I will trust God for all things even when I don't  understand.  Unapologetically, G

Running The Race

Image
During one of my needed binge-watching moments, I had the joy of watching a movie that themed around a woman who was preparing for a 5k run. She was so out of shape that she was struggled going up the stairs to her 2nd-floor apartment. Through her window, she would watch her neighbor stretch, put on her earphones and run daily. One day she decided to ask her neighbor why she ran. The neighbor told her that she was preparing for a 5k run, but in addition, she had so much going on negative in her life that running gave her freedom, endurance, and strength that she needed to make it through her day. She invited her to join them. What stood out to me, was her advice to start one block at a time and that she would do it with her. The word of God encourages us to run our race with endurance, but it also tells us how to run. Being surrounded by a large cloud of witnesses (Those who know and have witnesses Gods goodness) Lay aside every weight and sin that so easily ensnares us (Let

God's Love

Regardless of your upbringing, or family makeup, every child has at one time or another has sat in their parent's or grandparents' lap. The warmth, security, and compassion that envelopes you is a feeling that you will never forget. Time with God leaves us feeling that same way. Being held by him, feeling the warmth of his arms, hearing the beat of his heart and knowing the love of our father brings such peace. Before you begin your very busy day, sit in his lap, take in his word and hear his voice. As you navigate through your "To-Do List", pause and take the time to sit a moment in his lap and connect with him.  As you end your day, snuggle in his lap and read His word, receive His wisdom, peace and rest. Having that kind of relationship with God is without question the greatest love you will ever know. Unapologetically, G

Renewed Faith

And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”  Rev. 21:5 With the busyness of the holidays, added responsibilities, and ramped up obligations, we often lose sight of what's most important... our faith journey.  Speaking for myself, I have the security in knowing that God is ever present in my walk and with that understanding, I sometimes take for granted that I have an obligation to nurture and continually build on my faith and relationship with God.  I appreciate Gods gentle reminders and loving nudges to get back on track... redirect our priorities, and set our focuses back on him.  I dont believe in "New Years Resolutions"... but I do believe in setting goals and priorities.  My goal for this 20/20 year is focus. Focusing on hearing Gods word more clearly. Focusing on being lead by, and moving in the spirit and anointing of God. Finally. Focusin
