There’s something I’ve noticed in conversations… People are quick to introduce themselves by what they believe about themselves. “I’m loyal.” “I’m family-oriented.” “I love God no matter what.” “You can count on me.” And while those things may be true… I’ve found myself sitting quietly and asking one question: Can they see what you say? Because it’s one thing to declare who you are… It’s another thing to consistently live it. Sometimes, if we’re honest, we’re not just telling others who we are—we’re convincing ourselves. Speaking the version of us we’re striving to become… even when our actions haven’t fully caught up yet. And that’s not condemnation… that’s awareness.
